
Project initiator - Leo Borchard Music School |
The Leo Borchard Music School is an educational institution in the south-western district of Berlin, Steglitz-Zehlendorf. The main goal is the targeted musical advancement of children and youngsters with attractive and age-appropriate offers providing satisfaction and pleasure in music and valuable contributing to personality development. Musical adult education is a part of the syllabus of the Music School also.
With its approximately 6000 students and more than 300 concerts and workshops per annum the Leo Borchard Music School is at present the largest communal music school in Europe.
The musical “Sun, Stars Moon & Co.” is an idea by Joachim Gleich, the director of the music school and initiator of the project. In Berlin more than 45 000 visitors have seen the show since the first performance in April 1997.
The guest performance of the cosmical in Chicago is under the aegis of the Mayor of the Berlin district Steglitz-Zehlendorf, Mr. Herbert Weber.
