The Checkpoint Charlie Foundation was founded in 1994 by the Berlin State Legislature and is a legal foundation with political rights in the Berlin State and within its laws.
The goal of the Checkpoint Charlie Foundation is to develop and maintain German-American relations. The Foundation promotes and organizes various projects and programs, while at the same time serving the interests of both countries as a contact organization.
The Foundation is a non-partisan and nonprofit institution.
The Checkpoint-Charlie-Foundation is the main sponsor of the "Sun, Stars, Moon & Co." guest performance in Chicago.
